Marketing Your Website

What's New ?
Progressive Sales

The summer months are the ideal time to try different marketing techniques. Preparation through the summer months can pay big dividends in the third and fourth quarters. Progressive discounts, rewards and sales can all be planned, initially implemented and tested before the fall season is in full swing.

Progressive discounts is a tried and true method of creating multiple sales and building customer loyalty. How does it work? It is really very simple. A business sets up a reward or discount level based upon the number of purchases a customer makes during a specific period. For example: A clothing store establishes a discount schedule that begins with an ordinary priced first purchase. For each purchase during a three month period a 5% discount is added up to a maximum discount of 30% . That means that a customer would need to purchase at least six items over the three month period. This type of promotion truly rewards customers who buy more.

Discounts like this are typically limited to the purchase of a single item or a specific dollar amount. Each sale can be discounted along the way until the maximum discount is attained. A time limit is almost always outlined to discourage participants from dragging out the promotion.

Punch cards or computerized sales records are often used to track the discounts but a ledger book would work as well for smaller operations. It is vitally important to think this through and be very specific in your advertising and promotion efforts. Improper planning can cause head aches for you and your customer so word things carefully to avoid misunderstandings.

Multiple purchases are always good for business and if you can build customer loyalty in the process your business is rewarded in two ways.
Virtual-reality (VR) Headset

The immersive virtual-reality (VR) headset named Rift is being offered as a developer kit so more content can eventually be created for consumers.

Rift is a product of Oculus VR™ and is touted as a next-generation virtual reality headset designed for immersive gaming.

The consumer version is expected to be released for around $300 as soon as enough game titles are available (think months not years say the developers).
