Achieving Perfection

The term Perfectionist is often used negatively. Perfectionists are seen as uptight and rigid, but most of us would be happy to hire someone that constantly strived to achieve perfection? Perhaps the confusion lies in the difference between demanding perfection and working toward it. Demanding perfection can be off-putting and even considered obnoxious. Striving for perfection can provide direction beneficial to reaching a specific goal.

As a business grows, it becomes difficult to develop a culture where everyone is striving for perfection. Developing strategies which focus on perfection as a goal, go a long way toward creating the mindset necessary to build a quality company. A focus on perfection may not always translate into being perfect, but it is generally demonstrated in quality performances.

There are dozens of quotes by successful business people reminding us to enjoy our work. I have never had much fun working unless I was doing a good job. Don't get me wrong, enjoying your work is important, but fun at the expense of quality doesn't allow for longevity in business.

Will we ever be perfect? Probably not, but for short periods we may briefly bask in the knowledge that our hard work made us look perfect. To avoid a big head when those magical moments occur, I just mention them to my spouse or kids, and I am immediately brought back to earth.

Email Account Passwords

Simplenote

The simplest way to take notes. Simplenote is available for iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux, and the web. And best of all it is free. Simplenote is a text based note program that allows you to share, sync, recover, and collaborate on individual notes. You can even publish public links to your notes.

The Authors of the app recommend that you do not store sensitive information like passwords, banking information, or social security numbers in Simplenote. Notes are encrypted when they are synched but they are not encrypted while stored online. This allows you to search your notes quickly from anywhere.

You may use simple markdown formatting to create headings, links, and images in your notes. You could share a grocery list (or any note) among the entire family, allowing anyone to add or delete items from any device. The program is fast and simple to use.
