Recently I noticed
that several sports teams had to
play backups due to many
starters being diagnosed with
Covid-19. Television
Commentators praised teams for
dealing with adversity and
making the best of a bad
situation. In one particular
instance, the commentator gushed
over one organization while
ignoring that the other team had
just as many starters out of the
game.
Business owners
often deal with adversity, and
there is no one there to sing
their praises. Entrepreneurs
make the most out of bad
situations regularly. I am not
complaining; I am simply stating
a fact. The majority of Business
owners know better than to
complain. Customers avoid
businesses where all they hear
about is negatives.
Consumers are often like the
commentator that exaggerated his
praise for one team and ignored
the other. People don't care
what you are dealing with; they
want quality products for a fair
price. As business owners, we
understand this.
I
applaud you, even if you have
all of your players in the game.
Being self-employed is not easy,
and it can even be scary at
times. The struggle each
business faces is unique. As
business owners, we share
familiar battles and should
support each other where we can.
I was once told, "I can't do it
alone, but I must do it by
myself." I am responsible, but I
can get help, the perfect
business motto for a new year.
