Marketing Your Website

What's New ?
  Never Underestimate Your Products

When you have been in business long enough a customer always comes along and asks for something that seems beyond the scope or utility of the products you offer. At first glance it seems the individual may not fully grasp the available technology and its many uses. Often, after consideration it seems there may be a glimmer of hope for your product and its ability to fulfill the needs of the customer. Dig even deeper and you may find that your product has a use you never even considered.

As business people we are hesitant to think someone else may see a benefit to our product that we haven't already defined. It makes us feel like we have let down our guard, missed an opportunity or neglected a possible market. As business people this can be difficult to swallow.

Whenever a customer asks whether or not your product can achieve a specific goal, take a minute, consider the question and don't be afraid to ask for more information or ask for time to consider the question. Your customer may be creating a new market for you.

If we underestimate our client’s ability to see the uses of our products, we may be underestimating our products and the benefits they can offer.
DNA Data Storage?

Microsoft and the University of Washington believe they have broken the record for the most digital data stored in DNA, that's right, DNA. The DNA sequence is chemically manufactured according to an article on UW Today.

Why use DNA? Apparently if stored properly, it can be read for a very long time. A 2015 Popular Science Article named "The Future Of The DNA Hard Drive" explains that data could be stored for centuries without fear of decomposition. This would be similar to the way the DNA of a Mammoth has been studied.

This is of course, synthetic DNA but many feel it is possible to store digital data in human DNA. (This makes that ancient 12 song mp3 player seem kind of silly doesn't it?)

A post on the Microsoft Next Blog suggests that once DNA Storage hurdles are overcome it may be possible to fit the entire internet in a shoe box.

Things a lame Dad would say for a $1,000 Alex?
1. My wife says I can join your gang but I have to be home by 9.
2. Dad [leaving for work] You're the man of the house now.  9 yr Old: What do I do?   Dad: Whatever mom tells you!
3. And then her mood ring just...exploded.
4. I wear high white socks and shorts when I pick up my daughters and now they are always ready when I get there.
5. There's nothing like the joy on a kid's face when he first sees the PlayStation box containing the socks I got him for Christmas.
6. My wife is not buying that autocorrect changed “You’re psychic” to “You’re psycho.”

7. Sometimes when I want people to pay attention to me, I jog without moving my arms.
8. If you can't remember my name, just say 'donuts'. I'll turn around and look.
9.
I just ordered a set of dumbbells, I hope I don't trip over them while I search for the remote.

10.
My teenager sent my call directly to voicemail on the phone she used to have.
