Marketing Your Website

What's New ?
     Can Your Website Be Trusted?

Keyword relevance, incoming links, and updated content all play a role in how your website is seen by search engines. But what is it that makes your site trusted by those who matter most? Most visitors evaluate websites quickly and mercilessly. What does it take for those visitors to trust your website?

Make your site a trusted website by including your phone number and other clear and concise contact information. Include a way for visitors to contact you on every page of your site. Visitors feel more comfortable when they know they can reach you.

Purchase a domain name that makes sense for your site. You may notice that neither Ford nor General Motors uses "screeching tires.com" . Be sure your domain name tells visitors the basics about your site.

Use professional domain name email addresses. Jcoder@hotmail.com isn't nearly as likely to promote trust between you and your visitors as jcoder@codedesigns.com is.

Spell check content before uploading. Make sure words are spelled correctly and sentences are grammatically correct. You don't want your visitors spending time de-ciphering your content when they could be ordering your products or services.

Keep your content up to date. Old, out of date content will make a visitors question all of the content on your site. Keeping your content fresh encourages return visits as well. Verify that all links from your site are operating correctly; provide a professional error page to help visitors navigate if they get off track.

There are many ways to make your website a place visitors can trust. Review your site periodically and try to put yourself in your visitor’s shoes, if it doesn't make sense to you, it certainly won't make sense to your visitors.
 Windows 10 Released July 29, 2015

If you are in business chances are you use a Windows Operating System or Windows Software. In June of 2015 a NETMARKETSHARE report shows that over 90% of the Desktop Operating System Market is controlled by Windows. So the fact that a new Windows operating system is being released is big news.

The Windows 10 OS upgrade is reportedly being offered  free if you qualify for the next year. Windows 7 SP1,  and 8.1 update users qualify for the free upgrade. You can download the Windows 10 Media Creation tool here and follow the instructions here to upgrade.

The upgrade will install over your current qualifying OS and is not supposed to affect your current software or settings.

You can find out about feature deprecation and other specifications here.

Most businesses will wait and see how the new OS responds in the real world before updating. Testing the OS on a non-critical PC may be the best option to make certain that all crucial business software operates properly.
