In House Advertising
Customers see a business through
their own eyes. Not, regrettably through the eyes of the owner. In other words
customers don't often know everything a business owner would like them to know
about their business. They may not know about the varied product lines you have
available or each of the many services you offer. There is a way to let existing
customers know all about the products and services you can provide.
In
house advertising is often under utilized and sometimes even forgotten. When
customers enter your office or store they see your product, staff and decor, why
not display your in house advertising as well. We have a tendency to believe
that if some one shop’s or buys from us they know all about us. In many
situations this isn't the case.
How many sales are we letting slip
through our fingers if our core business is obvious but ancillary products and
services that we offer are not readily visible to our customers? For example; if
our core business is a flower shop but we derive 25% of our sales from gifts
that we display mainly in a back area of our shop, how do we let our customers
know? How will you let customers that call in their flower orders know about the
additional gifts available for purchase?
In house advertising is the
answer, whether it is through the use of internal or external signage, posters,
on hold messages, receipt advertising or word of mouth, it is imperative that
the message is delivered. Using the flower shop example we could post signs in
our shop advertising the additional gifts. An ad regarding the additional gifts
could be broadcast to customers on hold and prior to customer service answering
the phone. Gift advertising could be imprinted on receipts or relayed verbally
to every customer at checkout.
Why not add your website address to each
of these options as a central location to find out about each of your products
and services. Your website is a great place to let your customers (new and
existing) know about all of your products and services. Use the information on
your website to funnel customers directly to your store or office. |

As I Get Older I Realize:
|
1. I talk to myself, because sometimes I need expert advise.
2.
Sometimes I roll my eyes out loud. 3. I
don't need anger management. I need people to stop making me angry. 4.
My people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance of idiots that needs work.
5.
The biggest lie I tell myself is "I don't need to write
that down, I'll remember it."
6.
When I was a child I thought nap time was a punishment.
Now it's like a mini vacation.
7. The day the world
runs out of wine is just to terrible to think about. 8.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound. 9.
Wouldn't it be great if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten minutes;
come out wrinkle free and three sizes smaller.
10. "Getting
Lucky" means walking in to a room and remembering why I'm there. |
